Covid-19 antibody testing...Why the frick is this not being done everywhere RIGHT NOW?!!!

Is there not an accurate antibody test yet?
I and countless other people I know strongly suspect they had the virus from as far back as Thanksgiving through early March but there wasn't a swab test available at the time.
There are probably hundreds of thousands if not millions of people who have already had CV-19 and haven't been swab tested either because the swab test didn't yet exist or they were asymptomatic and never had any real symptoms.
Think of all the currently active yet asymptomatic people who could be quickly identified and isolated right now to stop the spread of the virus or the hundreds of thousands of people who likely had it, recovered from it, and now have immunity to it that could be sent back to work and out as consumers in the economy.
What the frick is the holdup on this?!!!!!

It takes a bit of time to roll out these tests. The first small waves of it are already happening (western Colorado, Ohio, Massachusetts I think), but you need to validate the results, digest the information, and determine what the next steps will be with it.
And it takes time to actually build up capacity and deploy and process the testing. That shite can't be done with the snap of a finger, especially as I believe most of these are blood draws.
Also doesn't help that serological tests from elsewhere, especially China, have proven out to be shite.

There is no virus therefore no antibody test. Wake up

Lol...Not yelling, just frustrated that probably the quickest, easiest, and most widespread testing method for determining past and present infections seems to be an afterthought.
Heck, every human being has blood that either has or doesn't have antibodies of this virus. A small blood sample from at least that suspect they had it or who was around someone suspected of having it could be done nationwide and in large numbers assuming the specific antibody for this particular virus could be identified by a readily available test.

Ummm.....might be because they just came out with it, like a couple of days ago. Kinda takes a little while to go from nothing, to a shite-ton of people.

That makes sense. I just don't understand why this test has taken so much longer to develop than the swab test even though it may in some ways be just as if not more important than the swab test.
I'd go get the test today if I could and if I had the antibodies for CV-19 I'd happily donate blood to potentially help a couple of infected people in the hospital.

Why would it be a new talking point? It isn't as if antibody testing is a new unproven method of determining the presence of past infections for other diseases so why would this one be any different?

ArcPoint Bham
Looks to be one of those chain labs that have become the rage recently. First link is the national site. The link above is for the Bham location.
Again, going this Thursday. I can advise as to the process. I haven't done enough research to know if it's bunk or not.

No it isn't, but there isn't normally an antibody test for a novel viral expression *snap* just like that.
And folks (not saying you are doing this) are implying there is some failure from above. If the President had not acted - decisively, there would not be millions of tests underway - we would barely have cracked 6 figures by now with the old, "Send it to CDC and wait a week" protocol, which would now be backlogged to 7 figures right now.
There would not be vaccines in trials already. There would not be a 15-minute test rolling out as we speak. There would not be a very angry admiral of Polish extraction scouring the Earth for PPE. There would not be a World War Wuhan level national effort to support the hotspots in the Tri-State area, SoCal and the 504.
The antibody testing is coming - sooner than you think. I think patience is in order here.

Not being critical of POTUS as I think the administration is doing all it can and a reasonably good job given the circumstances.
I realize developing and then producing such a test takes time. I just hope it's accurate and is very widely accessible nationwide sooner rather than later because an accurate antibody test that can quickly test and identify hundreds of thousands of past infections and possibly many active asymptomatic infections is the key to slowing the spread and to get people with immunity back to work and spending in the economy.

If I test positive for the antibodies, can I carry the proof around, dine in, go to bars, casinos and the like?
