I’m a science major so maybe we have some attorneys that could answer this question. If 2/3s of the states are republican and can call for a convention of the states could they propose an amendment to the constitution that required voter ID?

Just curious!

2/3 of the states can call for a Constitutional convention on any subject.

Getting 3/4 of the states to approve any amendment will be near impossible.

I can think of a few amendments I’d make in front of that one. But yep, 3/4 ain’t happening on any platform.
