Cory is a fricking moron. Driving a car and having a driver's license is not in the constitution. Owning a gun is and there are specific reasons why gun ownership is in the Constitution.

I keep SMH every time I hear one of the idiotic Dem candidates running for POTUS open their mouth and state dumbass comments such as his. And these fools think they can beat Trump in 2020.

quote:

Booker argued that just as a driver’s license demonstrates a person’s eligibility and proficiency to drive a car, “a gun license demonstrates that a person is eligible and can meet certain safety and training standards necessary to own a gun.”

quote:

According to Booker’s plan, current and first-time firearms buyers would seek a license at a designated office, similar to obtaining a passport. The applications would then be verified by the FBI. Current gun owners would have a transition period to obtain a federal license.

As a gun owner, I can get behind this as long as everyone is required to get an ID and such ID shall be required to vote.

I love this policy. He's not taking away your rights -- why should trash criminals have guns and us not know about it?

Crazy how yall are against this but are for IDs to vote...one of these choices can literally blow your top off

When you purchase a gun through an FFL then you already go through an FBI background check.

I like the idea of people being proficient and safe in the gun(s) they own, though I don’t like the idea of forcing someone to do that.

DOnt see how anyone could be against this. It would keep us safer and keep guns out of unsafe hands.

So we put our hands down on doing the right thing just because youre conceding that people are too stubborn and arrogant to do listen to others?

That sounds entirely spoiled and childish.

It is also valid across state lines. If I am licensed driver in FL..I am licensed driver in NJ

A marriage license is valid and "honored" in every state. If I am married in FL...I am married in NJ

So, if you want to keep heading down this road...how about my Concealed Carry license in FL? Am I now licensed to Conceal Carry in NJ? After all, YOU want to make 'licensing' comparable...no?

Par for the course amongst gun-control advocates.

Booker is simply demonstrating what those that have long paid attention to gun-control advocacy have long know; that they don't believe gun ownership is an individual civil right and is instead a privilege (hence the constant conflation with driving an automobile) whose exercise requires petitioning of the government.

You are only behind the idea of that but in reality it won't work. Just like people are required to get a license to drive but still drive without one. In the end it creates a "tax" on gun ownership and won't work for it's "intended" purpose.
