This was the act of a deranged lunatic and a horrible tragedy but is MGM responsible just because it has money?

Didn't he stockpile weapons in his room? Is that against hotel policy?

They aren't. But I hate ambulance chasing lawyers. First, they are almost always staunch democrats and second, they are scumbags in general.

The only way they should be liable is if they knew he was there with the guns and did nothing about it.

What does this have to do with anything? How were they supposed to stop that?

Because in large part, lawyers (on the whole) have absolutely ruined our once great Country.

Think about it, and you'll realize that it is true.

And it has all been done to benefit lawyers.

Because of the volume of materials he moved into his room. They will say that MGM should have alerted law enforcement to his suspicious behavior. Usual 20/20 hindsight stuff that lawyers use to create the illusion that responsibility for great evil can be spread around until it finds the deepest pockets.

Or if MGM should have known--at least that is the standard in Louisiana. Not sure what it is in Nevada.

also, failure to provide appropriate security could also be a cause a of action in NV.

The plaintiffs are claiming, most likely, that MGM knew, or should have known, about the guns in the room and had MGM reacted reasonably, the massacre could have been stopped.

If it could be proven MGM knew about a potential security problem and didn't take precautions to prevent the problem; then it might be proven that they do have some liability.

The burden would be on the attorneys for the plaintiffs to prove MGM should have been able to stop this guy.

I don't have any answers but I think this could be a way they could be made to pay. I don't even think they should pay.

Should the Vegas police have known?

What about the Sheriff?

What about the FBI?

I'm not going to research all the possible reasons. Lawyers will do that I imagine.

If MGM could show the authorities knew about this guy and didn't tell them, it would have to help their defense.

Allowing the use of a service elevator outside of the norm to move huge quantities of weapons seems like it would be at issue.

They let the guy use service elevators to bring guns in. They lied about a second person staying in the room. They destroyed security videos.

They are complicit.
