Concession or lack thereof

Since it's obvious that neither Biden nor Trump will formerly concede at least not initially, is concession just a tradition with no consequence or is it required to pursue legal action to dispute the voting results?

Concession is not necessary. Confirmation is generally expected but likewise unnecessary. I hope Trump confirms and Biden concedes on election night, but you never know.

No one will concede.
Furthermore,.both sides will claim victory.
Media will say Biden won not matter what the actual votes show.
If he has less votes they will say counts not complete.
If at the end of counting Biden is behind they will claim foreign interference.
If Trump loses he will say it's only because of counting illegaly cast ballots which may be true.
Truth will continue to be the victim as the media plows ahead with Biden won narrative.
This is not going to be pretty. Be prepared in case you need to shelter in for a couple weeks while millions try to destroy country.

Joe's conceding. Once it's apparent that they can't bounce back with late votes, he'll concede.
