Yes, he did know what he was doing. He's smart like that.

Comey got the press he wanted from the initial post, a post he knew would not be forgotten or wiped clean, and then he got to actually respond to it. He and his media handlers played it well.

This was a metered and deliberate act to drum up press and increase book sales. He knows he didn't break the law. If anyone would know, it would be him. What he did was undignified and vulgar but savvy as shite.

He didn't do this in a vacuum, he has an agent and a publisher. This was a publicity stunt and it worked.

He's very wisely playing to two audiences. The liberal audience that will buy his book and the MAGA audience, that right now is giving him the press he wants.

There's a sucker born every day and two to take him.

No one was going to buy his novel unless he did this stunt. Meanwhile his wife is going to back whatever Comey said to the USSS.
