The ex-Obama aide’s willingness to help Trump—whom he once dubbed among the “worst people ever born”—has drawn the ire of liberal allies while gaining him fans in Jared and Kimye.

CNN star Van Jones has a habit of upsetting his fellow Black activists, progressive policy advocates, and liberal Democrats by cozying up to the Trump White House.
In this instance, however, he was slyly applauding himself.
Jones went on CNN’s Inside Politics with John King and Anderson Cooper 360 to enthusiastically commend Trump’s executive order—even as it was being criticized as cynical and unproductive by the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and “delusional” by the Color of Change, an influential racial justice organization that Jones himself co-founded in 2005.
CNN viewers weren’t informed that he had actually attended secret White House meetings with his new friend Jared Kushner, discussing ways to frame the presidential project.

It’s because the left doesn’t want to address and remedy the issues.
Jones has solutions.
But progressives would rather benefit from playing victim.

Dems can’t run a campaign to fix the problem if they fix the problem.

Yeah it’s sad when someone puts politics aside to try to get something done and is eviscerated. Even if Trump’s order didn’t go as far as they want, isn’t it better than nothing? They likely win both Houses and the White House in 6 months anyway and can do whatever they want. Why not get some reform that helps between now and then?

I give him a big pass on that. He’s one of the few on the left (and at CNN) that tries to connect with the other side.

It’s nice to see liberals willing to work with the opposition to reach solutions. This country was built on the back of bipartisanship and now that bipartisanship has been missing, we are seeing the repercussions.
If you don’t have a supermajority and the White House, there isn’t very much you can do of any significance.
