CNN’s Dana Bash pressed Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday on whether abortion services will be available on federal land.
The interview comes just days after the Supreme Court on Friday overturned the landmark abortion cases Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
During an exclusive interview with Harris, Bash asked, “Can the administration expand abortion access or abortion services on federal land? Meaning provide the access on federal land that might be in and around states that ban abortion.”
“I think that what is most important right now is that we ensure that the restrictions that the states are trying to put up, that would prohibit a woman from exercising what we still maintain is her right, that we do everything we can to empower women to not only seek but to receive the care where it is available,” said Harris.
Bash reiterated and asked, “Is the federal land one of those options?”
Harris conceded it is not something under consideration by the Biden administration. She called for pro-choice legislators to be elected in the midterms.

Jesus Christ.
It's fascinating to watch the speed in which the talking points/premises are disseminated through the party and the media.

The next question would be:
Can the President simply say "abortion is acceptable on Federal lands"...
or does Congress need to pass something allowing it?

wouldnt state laws control and regulate what happens on federal lands within that state as far as matters of law not regulated by parks and land management?

Intriguing, state criminal laws do not apply on federal land?

It depends on the area. Some federal lands have concurrent law where state and federal would apply.

Is the Parks Service going to spray some Roundup inside and call it a day?

So if someone is assaulted or raped on federal property they would face no state charges?
SCOTUS has asserted that abortion is not something under federal purview, rather it is the responsibility of the states to determine it. You are saying that crimes that do not rise to the level of federal crimes are not chargeable under state law?

Other than DC, there should not be allowed to be any land controlled federally. If the federal government wants to lease the land from the state for federal activity like military bases, that's fine. But this idea of federal land that states can't control within their own states is unconstitutional.

Yet another glorious thing about Texas ... only 1.9% of the state's acreage is comprised of federal land.

Hopefully WV v. EPA goes the right way and forces congress to pass legislation for these type of executive initiatives.

Murder someone on federal land and it goes to a federal court, not state.

Turn back the land to the states
No more federal land
