The way it is written it sounds like the FBI didn't seek the new surveillance warrant until the fall of last year. So the old warrant expired before Manafort was a part of the campaign and the new warrant was probably issued after he had been fired.
Highly doubt this provided any evidence against anyone not named Manafort

So a win win for Trump. According to your statements, Trump could not be part of the issues which led to surveillance and he was right about trump tower being wiretapped.

Except that whole Trump Tower being under surveillance was wrong. His own DOJ has admitted there's no evidence for that claim

He was fired in August and the FBI's interest wasn't reignited until the Fall. Assuming this has been accurately reported I'd say it's pretty likely that Manafort wasn't under a surveillance warrant at any point while working on the campaign.
