Leftists are mostly atheistic and "wresting land" from less adapted groups seems perfectly fine from a Darwinian perspective; hence, I'm not sure what the problem is?

The big news outlets we grew up with are dying. As they have been dying, they take more and more foreign money.

I’m only 33, so I didn’t grow up with any traditional news outlet like I think you’re describing.
You’re right about certain news outlets accepting foreign money and as a result their hatred of America with it. A huge shift from traditional media happened in the late 90’s, early 2000’s. CNN went looking for funding and places like China and Russia have seen an opportunity since.
