Gotta fund those tax cuts for the super wealthy.

"Fake" news

quote:

President Donald Trump told lawmakers on Thursday he was scrapping a planned pay raise for federal workers, saying the nation's budget couldn't support it.

In a letter to House and Senate leaders, Trump said the pay increase would amount to $25 billion, which he described as "inappropriate."

"We must maintain efforts to put our Nation on a fiscally sustainable course, and Federal agency budgets cannot sustain such increases," the President wrote.

He stressed the change wouldn't affect the federal government's ability to attract qualified workers, and wrote the government would focus on "recruiting, retaining and rewarding high-performing Federal employees and those with critical skill sets."

I learned that I'm super wealthy in this thread. Thanks for that.

It is up to Congress to not include them in the budget. Trump can veto budget if they are included, or for any other reason, but I do not see it happening.

That's good to hear. Federal salaries on average are way too bloated.

I don't really have a problem with no raises, but if he is serious about constraining spending he needs to tackle entitlements and the military. He will never do it fwiw.

Trump to media: We can not give a raise to the Gov this year because the DOJ spent all the money on Stephen Halper. Next Question?

Oh I'm sure they're all still getting their normal "step" raises. It's amazing how government employees never seem to understand that those aren't a thing in the private sector.

My a-hole bleeds for federal employee pay raises. I’m sure about 70% of the country feels the same way.
