Can someone give me a breakdown?
-Barr testified in Congress.
-Then the attorneys of congressmen wanted to question him and he didn't show.
Go from there...

Wrong. They wanted their staffers to have a crack at him b/c they couldn't do it themselves.

many in congress are attorneys so that was a stupid request.

I’d like them as well, as I’ve been out of the loop on this one. Perhaps, the reps’ attorneys should have prepared questions for the reps ahead of time.

So they were trying to hold him in contempt for the redactions?.. not for failing to show up for testimony?

Correct. Nothing to do with showing up. They sent a subpoena for UNREDACTED report and ALL underlying documents.
It is theater as no one went to read the available less redacted. Not one of them. And, it is unreasonable request. They expected to be rebuffed and only want the ‘contempt’ smear. That is the desired outcome.
frick them all.

Jabba the Nadler thinks he's somebody, and that the House is the most important body in Federal Govt. The Constitution may say that they're a co-equal Branch, but in reality the House is Romper Room, always has been, and always will be.

Correct. They started threatening contempt when he didnt offer completely unredacted copies.
He sent a letter telling them that he is open to it if they can provide any basis at all to support the need for completely unredacted report.
Even called them on not reviewing the less redacted report. How can you know u need unredacted report if you havent even looked at the less redacted version made available to congress only. They have to goto a special room and sign in to view the material... so there is literally a list of everyone that has viewed it.

Barr testified before the Senate (he went before both the House and the Senate earlier this year but those were the financial committees, what you're talking about is the Judiciary Committee).
quote:

Nadler, the head of the House Judiciary Committee, requested he come testify. Barr agreed. After Barr ran his droopy nutsack over the Senate Nadler decided to move the goal posts on the House hearing and changed it to "you'll be asked questions by our lawyers instead of us". Barr told them "hard pass".
Nadler also said he wanted a completely unredacted version of the Mueller Report. Barr told him there was a version that is 99.9% unredacted that he and other Dems in Congress can read within a secure facility but that the .1% that is redacted is done so by law and he cannot change that.
Nadler said that wasn't good enough and has now found Barr to be in Contempt (and not a single Democrat has taken Barr up on his offer of the nearly-unredacted version).
