Clear path to 218 for the GOP. UPDATE: GOP up to 216

Taking back the House is a big deal. This is on top of the 14 House seats won in 2020. Republicans made some big gains in New York.
GOP up to 215 seats. More than enough left to put them over 218.
MT1
CA23
CA44
will get them there. They'll pick up a few closer races on top to that to increase the majority.

It’s crazy having to sweat winning the House after months of Red Wave mania

So if it ends up being 217 what happens? Is it mainly just not being able to push thru legislation on straight down party vote ? Always wondered this.

Looks like something between 222-225. 538 model had it 228-230 R. So a slight under performance but not the total missed layup that this board thinks happened.

Odd after 2 years of Dems shoving it up all our asses Dems even stay remotely close.

GOP started this election 18 seats better than the Dems in 2018 and 33 seats better than the GOP in 2010.
If they didn't already have 212 seats it would have been a wave. When the water is already up some it can't travel as far.

There will be no legislation period if we don't have Senate, and even if we do, that senile bastard will veto. But, at least we can slow the bs from the progressives....until that senile bastard uses executive power.

Actually you are correct. I think it is about where I thought it would be. I figured 224. To much cheating to get all the seats you should win and to many seats being voted in to cheat in all of them. To risky!

odd that you don't realize that we don't have very far we can go after gaining seats in 2020. It's not like deep blue is turning red.

Which the courts can strike down if extreme and the next president can overturn if GOP.

Hope you're right. This will effectively end the Biden agenda regardless of what happens with the senate.
