Cool

quote:Dude has been begging to sing for the feds since he got fired. All of this pseudo-outrage is pretty hilarious, tbh.
1. Flynn knows to never talk without an attorney there. Hell, Flynn could have ended the conversation and had the FBI agents escorted out of the WH immediately.
2. Flynn knows to have passed on that advice to his son.
3. Law enforcement are trained that their job is to roll people up. It creates confirmation bias and taints everything they do. Hammers and nails and all that.

Flynn has enough sense to tell them I will NOT be questioned without an attorney present..Indeed I will not talk to you if he is.
You would think not talking to investigators without legal counsel present would be common knowledge, but people get fricked by the system daily for doing just that. Most people wrongly assume that if investigators show up and start asking questions, you have to answer them. They also wrongly assume they cant just walk away, but if you aren't under arrest you can do just that. Not knowing and understanding your rights can screw you big time.

Sounds an aweful lot like obstruction on justice.

Wonder if he was placed under oath? I thought I’d heard that he was, but I haven’t seen it mentioned in any stories.

quote:I was talking about the point of this thread saying he was "duped".
This is true. And we're not treating him like a child. He plead to a felony if you don't recall.
For all I know Trump fired him because he allowed himself to get questioned by the FBI.
quote:I haven't seen anything regarding Flynn that would disturb me. Remember, he had a lot of concerning "underlying behavior" leading up to that interview according to testimony.
This said, try to throw your politics aside, does the power and behavior of the FBI disturb you, or are you o.k. With it?

quote:You seem to miss the point. There are men, especially teams of corrupt men and women, who are smart enough to manipulate people into lying. That is why no person should be allowed to talk to law enforcement without an attorney, and Flynn need a team of attorneys, not just one.
We need to stop treating Mike Flynn and the rest of the Trump administration like they are children. He's a grown man who should know how to handle himself.
It shouldn't be a right; it should be an absolute requirement to have a lawyer present. If a person wants to ignore the advice, then so be it.

quote:I guarantee you that there isn't an investigator smart enough to get me to answer questions as part of an investigation if I don't want to. Flynn is either incredibly stupid or he knew he had a lot to hide and was trying to play it cool. Or both.

Levin is reporting that someone close to Flynn said that Flynn pled because he is broken emotionally and financially, and is tired of his family's being dragged through the mud.

No wonder he was so easily turned by the Ruskies!

Couldn't blame him. Just think, if he would have gotten a lawyer, he's probably still the NSA.

Comey was scared. I'll allow Flynn to be weak. Flynn beats Comey in a cage fight.
