This is what Chris Long had to say about Roger Goodell when Roger didn't address the whole White House fiasco:

quote:

He didn’t say anything?” Long said, via NJ.com. “Hey, I don’t speak for the commissioner, if he doesn’t want to stand up for the players, that’s not really my business.”

You are right, a-hole! It's not your business. I like Howie Long but c'mon man, I wish he had used a condom when he squirted out this POS!

That's a strong condemnation for a pretty mild statement, honestly.

Check out his rants from the past year on the subject of kneeling for the anthem and the White House, etc. My condemnation stems from all the statements he has made. I'm good with my feelings...just saying.

I have no idea what else he has said, just going off the provided statement. While I don't endorse it, I understand why a white NFL player may adopt certain platitudes or attitudes in order to keep their teammates from hating them.

You shouldn’t be, because you are considerably triggered because of one guy’s stance on this issue.

Chris Long is a lot of things, but a-hole isn't one of them. He donated his entire salary last year.

It’s not mild to the perpetually offended on this board.

Chris Long has been one of the only guys in this whole thing that has actually backed up his words with actions.

He's a good dude. Also he's not some political radical. I know he dislikes Trump which is fine, but he's not some communist like Kaepernick.

He also hasn't said or done anything derogatory towards law enforcement.

Yeah that stuff irritates me. You can disagree with someone without being enemies.

Guys that make millions a year to play games and now are victims because they choose to protest the flag instead of police stations...

The POTUS must be just trying to start a conversation...

My point exactly...he doesn't have to blast the President and the White House or folks who think that the players' protest is out of order for a football game. He has missed the whole point of the backlash from America.

Boo hoo. Goodell didn’t stand up for Long’s ability to no show a photo op.

Because I seriously doubt he was one of the three players on the list as attending when the invitation was pulled. And given the number of bad decisions Goodell has made as commissioner, this doesn’t even make the top 20.

So did Trump, but apparently he's Hitler.

It's a pretty benign statement by Long.

But also, Roger works for the owners, not the players. If the players want someone to stand up for them it should be the head of the union.
