actual, bilateral diplomacy is not possible anymore. the only thing that the US can do is give in to NK demands. we receive nothing in exchange. that's not diplomacy, that's blackmail/terrorism
*ETA: i'm not saying we have to have a violent conclusion to this drama, but "diplomacy" is not the proper description

I do think Trump needs to tone it down unless he's ready to act. If he's always talking just like Kim Jong Un, then nobody will know when he's being serious or just doing more shite talking.
I don't take Kim Jong Un seriously because he's always saying this crap. People will start seeing Trump in the same way if he's always talking crap but not doing anything.

Xi realizes that tough rhetoric by NK and Trump leads to Trump redefining trade terms between the US and China. The cat is already out of the bag and the US will tighten the economic screws on Big Panda. In return Big Panda will force the Norks to give up Nukes.

I hope so. That is Trump's default setting. It is about time people starting recognizing that. My fear is that people already believe the lies that he repeats.
