The effective start date for the new charges will be revealed at a later time, though China's Ministry of Commerce said the tariffs are designed to target up to $50 billion of U.S. products annually.

The 25 percent levy on U.S. imports includes products such as soybeans, cars and whisky, Beijing said.

The move comes less than 24 hours after President Donald Trump unveiled a list of Chinese imports that his administration aims to target as part of a crackdown on what the president deems unfair trade practices.

China must not want easy access to America's economy.

Looks like facts are getting a down vote this am. Hopefully we’ll get more lies on Amazon and how the USPS works today. “How’s your 401k doing?”

While I’m not a fan of our tariffs, I don’t see this going well for China.

You think it is going to go well for the US?

Reinvested my dividends in december @ 29.52 and sunk my Christmas bonus into it at 29.36. and I bought the first major dip on 2/5/18 at $29.56.

Trading as of this exact minute at 29.74. Ticker VMRGX

So, its not doing the 35% return I saw last year (Thanks Donald). But we can stop acting like we are in a 2008/09 collapse.

I'm in an improved position from my last 3 transactions and have not lost a cent on my investment. My gains are jumping back and forth, but anyone that has been on this ride with Trump is up YUGE!

China has more to lose, so it would stand to reason that they would be the ones to back down first.

I saw the other day that China's middle class, just their middle class, consisted of 400 million people and is expected to expand to 780 million by mid 2020's. Its not going to go well for either of us.

That's not how these tariffs work. China is imposing these import taxes on those US goods.

Also, according to the US Census, $10.6 billion in vehicles were exported to China from the US last year. That's not going to be good if the blue-collar democrat vote is important to Trump.

Congrats on your dividends. Who is acting like it’s the collapse of 2008? I was simply pointing to why upset the market when it’s unnecessary? AMZN is a big part of the market but the Pres in his ignorance keeps attacking Bezo’s because dude is the richest man in the world and the Pres has an axe to grind

Who evaluates investment funds this frequently? You sound silly.

There is already a heafty tariff on imported automobiles. Wealthy Chinese spend a boatload on imported cars and will even if tariffs increase. Why? Status. Chinese made automobiles are junk.

There are no winners in a trade war. It's not good for the US or China.

, it's a mutual fund. It doesn't trade at an exact moment. The 2% drop in futures right now isn't baked into that $29.74.

It's going to go better than a $500 billion trade deficit, which is the point.

You have to start somewhere and Trump is the first one with balls to try it

That's not why Trump is attacking him but liberals don't understand economics, so they get their story from the MSM.
