The Chinese government is in the middle of an unprecedented internet crackdown in an effort to stall or silence criticism of Chinese President Xi Jinping's decision to extend his termed presidency into a lifetime appointment.

Can't really criticize China, at the moment. We've our own problems. Our homegrown YouTube is banning wrongthink. They don't even need the ironfist of the government. They are doing it on their own.

Yes, but the irony of a communist totalitarian state in the 21st Century censoring Animal Farm is pretty much like branding yourself as ... a communist totalitarian state.

But is it really a communist when there's a very definitive leadership telling you what you can and can't do and filtering thought processes?

Free trade was supposed to make the chicoms more like us. instead, we have become more like them.

The converse is never true.

They've also banned a specific "Winnie the Pooh" cartoon that shows the lovable Disney bear clutching a pot of honey, near the words, "Find the thing you love and stick with it"

that is barbaric

A private companies policy on use of product is totally different from a wide spread government law. Not even close

YouTube can do whatever they want. You can’t make a Christian baker bake a gay cake and you can’t make YouTube publish videos they don’t want. Compelled speech is no more free speech than China.

That may be the best definition of communism I’ve ever seen.

I'm sorry that you're an idiot. Your parents just had shitty DNA and you're not quite up to task. Totalitarianism and communism are different things. I'm sorry you don't understand that.

Is there another form of IRL communism that doesn't include this, or am I sadly ignorant of some kind of wunderkind communes that have defied the odds?

No shite. Funny how the latter always goes hand in hand with the former though.
