Worse. I think parents do this because they want their kid to be a different gender than it is. I don't know how on earth the kid doesn't grow up hating himself or herself for not being the gender its parent subliminally wants.

Furthermore, I know plenty of girls who went through a Tomboy Phase, and then grew out of it. What on earth are these people who want to give their kids hormones to make them into another sex and/or remove their periods or whatever they do. It's Horrific.
