Still trolling libs even when he's gone. Rest in peace, El Rushbo. They'll be mourning you for years in Rio Linda.

His wife had to tell the truth on that certificate, so that's that.

Greatest Radio Host of All Time

Some history... When I worked in radio (long before Rush) we ran a 10 minute daily feed from Paul Harvey.
You would be amazed at the number of people who didn't listen to pop music but turned on the radio just to hear his news and comments.

A few years later I heard my first live syndicated radio talk show. It was Larry King. Interesting stuff for people driving in the middle of the night. No way it was ever going to get big money for ads during daytime broadcast.

Rush was the first to prove the experts wrong and run a daily show in prime drive time.
And then came the copiers. Some were OK, but most were horrible.
I'm one of the few people who actually listened to The Mario Cuomo Radio Show. I caught it when I made my annual trip to Lexington, Ky.

Typical segment:

Caller: 'Mario, what are we gonna do? The Republicans are killing all the elderly and poor and they're destroying the environment.'

Mario: 'Yes, they are.'

Caller: 'I can't take it anymore, Mario. I don't want to live anymore. I don't know what to do.'

Caller then starts to cry. There was no wit. No humor. Just depressing shite. That's why the show was cancelled fast.

his slot isn't prime (drive) time. he made it into an important slot.

there's no need for a liberal radio talk show. Liberals can go anywhere else in the media to get their opinions validated. Conservatives have talk radio and the internet.

Furthermore, you can't just sustain a talk show by parroting the narrative they want you to spew as a news anchor person. You have to delve into the realm of debate and fact...unsustainable for the left.

Drive time = morning, lunch time, evening.
Rush was lunch based. It's prime listening time.

Kafka,

Come on man, you are kidding right. You know he is syndicated and plays on 600 radio stations....ya dont really think they synchronize the same slot across all?

Ya think when they play Kiss live they are actually playing in the studio?

Just kiddin

He's not, and he's correct. Before Rush this was not considered a prime time. Rush took that time slot and turned it into a success. It's now considered prime because of Rush.

Dims/Progressives are the most fragile people in our society, that's why I'm flummoxed on how these twits are in near total control of this great country.

I was younger and didn't wake up until about 7-8 years ago. It's sad he passed but this means we need someone to be willing to take his platform and use it in a manner in which he did.

My grandpa turned me on to Rush in the 80's. I cannot thank him enough. If it weren't for Rush, I would have been brainwashed in college.
His time slot here was 9am-12noon, they would replay it in the evening. I remember at 11am he would say..."It's 11am, time for the welfare recipients to WAKE UP!"

The thing I loved about Rush the most would be when he would say something, clearly within a certain context, then explain how the people paid to listen to his show were going to take it out of context,

and they would do it every damned time.
