Central Park 5/When they See Us

I’m not that familiar with the case, but from what I’ve read the kids were in the park harassing people and admitted to attacking the woman before cops even knew about her. Obviously some sketchy cop work and tactics, but the show comes off as propaganda (they also throw in some Trump hits quite a bit)
What do you guys think about this case, were they guilty of the assault and/or rape? I know one thought is they attacked her but the other guy found her after and he raped her...
Lot of conflicting testimony and theories so hard to know the reality.

The majority of netflix's original productions contain this.
Watching it, it was hard to tell if they were wanting to tell a story of questionable police work and tactics that were changed as a result of this case or if they just wanted to put in the narrative of proof that trump is "racist" because he voiced the want for the death penalty based on the attack and rape of a white woman by black men.
It never addresses Trump's opinion after a Latino admitted to the crime, the actual guilty parties background is never discussed, what if he was also an illegal alien with ties to MS13? This seems important since the opinion of a private citizen was deemed so important to be included in the "documentary", its almost like the facts wouldn't fit their narrative so it was left out.

Yep. MTV board is apparently a haven for people opposed to facts. I actually researched the case and presented the evidence. Apparently that's frowned upon.

Yeah that thread was something special. He kept stating the various details of the case, drawn from multiple sources while a few of the usual liberals, who obviously knew nothing of the case except what Netflix just told them, attacked him. I can’t understand the liberal requirement to sanctify every piece of shite who gets arrested.
From my understanding, and I’m certainly no expert on the case, there is dna evidence that another person did the rape. I don’t know if the dna specifically excludes these guys from the rape. These guys likely did beat up the lady and were in the park that night for the purpose of beating and robbing.

Did it mention that the police and DA have never been found to have actually done anything wrong in the way they handled the cases?
Did it mention that the fact the DNA didn't belong to the boys was presented at both trials? Fools on the MTV board tried to pretend people in 1989 didn't understand what "the sperm we found belongs to someone else" meant.
How about that the boy who spent the most time in jail wasn't even convicted of rape. Was that mentioned?
Did it mention that the juries were made up mostly of minorities?
Did they mention that the boys were convicted of other crimes with other victims, not just this one? Or that the police weren't even aware of some of those victims pior to these criminals bringing them up during their confessions?
If any of these things were omitted, then the show is garbage.

Oh man I found a ton. The city if New York had to release all of the evidence from each investigation into this when de Blasio gave these criminals $41M to settle a lawsuit the City knew it could win.
It will take me some time to compile everything I found, which is on a laptop and I'm moving furniture right now, so give me a bit and I will absolutely post some links.

They covered all of this... and fwiw I went into the show thinking it was propaganda but it’s actually an entertaining show, and Jharrel Jerome who plays Korey Wise was
Absolutely phenomenal and the 4th part of the series that focuses on him was amazing.
