Cartels labeled as terrorist organizations

Curious how this plays out. Do we start droning their compounds south of the border? Unleashing the socom community upon them? Lord knows they need to be eliminated but I am a bit anxious of potential blow back from within our borders since they have operations in damn near every major city.

I've wondered the same.. not sure how that is going to play out, but it's time to cut the head off the snake. Yes, I know another one will grow, but that takes time and it isn't as organized, which buys us more time to figure out the real problem.

I don't think anyone has any problem policing the cartels within our borders, but I don't think that's what is being discussed here

Labeling gives Trump some additional powers. None of it has to result in military action. It's a good step to take. If he wants he can declare Mexico a hostile nation due to the nexus between the cartels and the Mexican government, and that unlocks even more stuff he can do.

Pretty clear to me, that this puts enormous pressure on the Mexican government to do what they are supposed to be doing, and eliminate the threat. Or be tarriff'd into obscurity.
