does more than I ever need it to.

Yeah, I don't use half the functions I've got. I don't need more shite I'm not gonna use. Although the high resolution cameras on top tier phones do justify the cost. How often do we lug around an actual camera these days? We take pics with our phones and if you take a lot it makes sense to get the high end gear.

I prefer the weight and feel of an iphone to plastic androids. There’s something about the weight and feel of iphones that make them seem much more substantial and engineered than any androids I have owned.
. And people wonder why they call appletards pretentious. My pixel 2 is made of aluminum and gorilla glass, just every other high end phone has been for the past 5 years. I bet you even have a case on your heavy engineered phone. Lol.

Also, my androids crap out at around 2 years.
so do most people's iPhones with new updates.

Whereas, my current iphone is going on 4 years, and I handed my 6 yo iphone 5 down to my daughter and it keeps a charge and works as well as the day it was purchased. Both phones are on their original batteries.
so has all of my pixels, Nexus and every other Android phone I have had.

They are all garbage.

Opened thread looking for capitalism, found a fan-boy war over phones.

There's got to be a fascinating psych angle to this. People (ok, most people) don't argue over what brand of jeans you should wear, or shoes, and with the exception of enthusiasts most don't care what kind of vehicle you drive. Phones make folks defensive for some reason, and I don't get it.

hear this exact quote a lot, but nobody can explain what they mean other than "it's just better".

I can have my calendar, email, and texts on the home screen without having to open an app. I can see what comes in, from who, and what they say without touching anything at all. I can customize anything or nothing. Apple gives you a dot on an icon.

Again, simply a different market.
