Can someone explain to me why we should be afraid of the Coronavirus?

I mean, it originated from a country with a population over 1.45 billion, yet the GLOBAL number of infected people is 80 thousand.

The virus has supposedly taken the lives of 2,700 people so far.

That seems like a significant number until you realize the flu has killed 14,000 this season in America alone.

26 million Americans have contracted the flu with over a quarter million hospitalizations.

We're supposed to be scared of the Coronavirus?

I'd rather not take my chances, but I'm certainly not raiding wal-mart for canned goods right now

There are A LOT of people who get moist at the idea of society breaking down

They are pushing the idea that this virus is the end of times

there's virtually nothing to worry about. The only tiny real concern is if it mutates while it spreads.

You just pointed out it has a higher mortality rate than the regular flu. I suppose a lot of countries don’t want it unleashed on their population and have it possibly spread at a rate anywhere near seasonal flu.

Because OMB?

That's all I can come up with.

COVID-19 is 6-10 fold more virulent than routine seasonal flu.

Well containment efforts have been in place since it was identified, so yeah, only 80,000 reported cases...

But with that mortality rate, if the Coronavirus was to become as widespread as the flu, there would be more like 800,000 deaths.

Am I correct in the assertion that there's no "cure" or vaccine at this, and those things may be a year or more out from public availability?

From a health standpoint, not much. From an economic impact on YOUR life, very much. The news media will hype this to the point of mass panic buying by the dumbed down public. This will result in folks locking themselves away from everyday life which will severely limit and slow down the movement of goods and money. All of this will domino-effect it's way to a broken economy, food shortages, medical overloads, and business failures. The NWO types are licking their chops hoping that all of this takes place and they are already fanning the flames through the CDC.

My suggestion is hit the supermarkets ahead of the herds and stock up on enough can goods to last three months. You can get the cheap ones now while they are on the shelves. Lack of food is well worth being afraid of.

I was cooking and Fox ran a whole segment of a panel discussion devoted to "Dems say Trump Administration not doing enough on Corona virus". 15 minutes or so on this, YET, NOT One Word on a Dem Plan, or lack thereof.

Why is it totally the Executive branch that is responsible for Corona Preparations but anything and everything else the Executive is supposed to yield to either the Legislative or Judicial? Just what is Princess Pelosi's or Schmucky Schumer's plan? What does Buttguy have planned to fight corona? Biden can't remember if he's running POTUS or Senate campaign but does he even know corona exists? Of course Bernie's plan is to tax corona and set up a govt. agency to oversee it.
