Why I first came to the TD was sports, but stayed for this forum.

The past 3 months made me realize how little I needed sports in my life. I no longer will follow any upcoming college sports at the first sign of mass protest, such as kneeling, etc. I'm watching to be entertained, not indoctrinated. I fear this Fall will be nothing but look at me virtue.

I've not seen a professionsl sports game in 7 years.

Hate the current climate? Stop watching or attending. Let the athletes get a dose of reality.

Hey Satan what's up? You have been doing some work lately!

I came to the same conclusion as you

I quit movies and tv shows awhile ago. Never was into the pros. But I agree, if college dips its toe into the sjw pool I'm out.

666 posts? Guess I'll make it 667 so I can be neighbor of the beast.

Ancient Rome had bread and circus. Free games and free bread, designed to sate the common man occupied with stupid shite and not with important matters. No different today with NFL and Pizza Hut.

Hear ya. I’ve had the same struggles.

Probably going to get downvoted, but, I can’t watch a sport any longer where I know the likes of Lebron James or Michael Thomas or whomever are going to benefit financially with zero repercussions for the trouble they’ve caused during these turbulent times.

That said, there are plenty of spectator sports outside of the big 3 in the US that can entertain. I’m going to try Premier League soccer or something similar even if it means joining the Soccer Board.

Also, because I need to lose 5-10 Covid pounds, I bought a bike and started playing tennis.

Between that and watching LSU replays, I’ve been sufficiently entertained.

Wife and I have really started to like the poker channels. Lots of drama and play by play. No politics there.

And today we have welfare, Section 8, and massive taxpayer-funded sports arenas.

This Board is so potent, I'm surprised the opposition, censorial powers that be haven't pressured LSU to shut it down. Maybe there is hope that there are individuals in positions of power who realize the import of open, comprehensive and uncensored discussion of our dilemmas. I praise and pray for those in power (Administrators) who undoubtedly bear increasing pressure, to ensure that our discussions remain available for the general public to hear. The day that our talk ends - because talkers know that it's a dishonest, manipulated ruse - is the day we all turn on to the road to perdition.

I have been losing interest in sports as I've gotten older. I stopped watching MLB after the last strike in the 90s and haven't missed it in the least.

I had to work on weekends last year and never really had a chance to watch any football but barely missed it. There are way too many commercials during a game to put up with all of the political BS that's been added to coverage for the last several years.

I honestly don't care if I ever see another game. IN the grand scheme of things, sports are pretty irrelevant and all professional athletes are grossly overpaid.

Interesting because I think once things return to “normal” and we have other things to focus on a lot of this unrest will end. Sports have unified people of all races for years.

People can take their cues from social personalities, including sports figures. In a real way we are hastening the downfall of our own existence simply by supporting these sports figures and/or teams. Without fans buying tickets, apparel, PPV, they would cease to exist.

Imagine a team getting pumped in the locker room, screaming sjw words, and coming out of the tunnel to an empty stadium. Only then would the shite stop.

Hitting them in the pocketbook is the only solution now.

My morning rituals have changed as circumstances and personal knowledge have changed.

My preferred morning was coffee, cigarettes, a paper, and isolation.
Then marriage, children, and health dropped cigarettes.
Then increasing liberal intolerance of my opinions degraded the A and B value of the paper over time.
The internet slowly then explosively eleminated the classifieds value.
Eventually the irritating and informative value of A and B were equal, and I only had the sports.
Then liberals began shitting on the sports before my dog.
The Yankee ownership of the Picayune decided that the New Orleans Metro area could no longer support a daily paper. So I dropped them and started buying the Democrat owned rag the Advocate. I had subscribed to the Advocate prior while living in Baton Rouge. It like the Picayune had become more leftist biased and less tolerant.
I dropped the Advocate after football season and substituted books and my I pad for reading.
Football season started up again but I saw no purpose in funding the enemies of my moral, religious, and political beliefs. So I punished my sports addiction, but fed my soul.
Then a friend told me about Tiger Droppings. Tiger sports, the OT, and a political discussion without liberals deciding what would or could be talked about.
4 years of morning nirvana! I even can spend time during the rest of the day. Wish I had found this earlier and had stopped funding my family’s enemies sooner!

I’ve told my parents to end their subscription to the Dallas Morning News for years, but they just have to have a newspaper every morning.

I will not be watching the NFL this year.

I was sent here by a fellow traveling PoliBaw who is one of the smartest people I know and one of my favorite people IRL to discuss politics with. He kept telling me this is the site where he gets all his news.

I was very resistant, bc while I do love me some football, my ability to discuss the statistics and mechanics of the sport - will always be limited by the fact that bc I’m a chick, I never really played the game.

Plus? Get all your news from a CFB site?? 3 yrs later and I will acknowledge- it’s Best suggestion he ever gave me.

The PoliBoard is one of the last bastions of political free expression on the Internet. While, yes the board leans right- chicken doesn’t ban leftists for just being leftists. And I love it that way!

This describes me too. I am a Mississippi State Alumni and fan. My dad was a 1949 Chemical Engineering graduate of LSU and I grew up going to a few games in Tiger Stadium. I came here now and again for sports till I happened upon this Political Board. It is great to find like minded Southern Conservatives that can talk politics and own the prog. filth.

Spot on.

It’s time for real people to exercise our silent majority against the these people who are calling all of us bigots.

If this spreads to college football, I’ll quit that too.

I’ll go fishing instead.

When that starts happening, it's time for a lot of the players to be out and replaced.
