The replies on the LA mayor’s tweet asking residents to turn AC’s to 78 and stop using major appliances are pretty surprising for California. Seems like people don’t appreciate energy restrictions when it is uncomfortable for them. Does this mean they shouldn’t be charging their electric cars in the summer? Twitter

You have it wrong

They are blaming it on climate change and therefore they need more green energy, not less

I asked my extreme prog aunt yesterday (who lives in Cali) what preventative measures they were taking to stop the fires.

She literally said “hey idle, it’s f’ing climate change!” Lol I said that’s great and all but did Newsom ever take care of the berms? “It’s f’ing climate change ok!!?”

Deranged people all around. Sad!

People make stupid decisions that cause a lot of pain which was highly preventable.

They call this “climate change”.

This is not, I repeat NOT! outside of the norm for California.

California is always suffering from Power Production or water shortage issues of one kind or another.

California painted themselves into a corner and they should suffer for their stupidity. Their electric production is based on Natural Gas from Calpine Generation. Otherwise they conned the public into believing they were going all natural ...Hell the public should suck it up, discard clothes and run around nude until the heat wave breaks. California buys power from the neighboring states, then tells their population they are producing cleaner air .....What happened here is Arizona UTILITIES told them "We are not capable of increasing our production levels outside of the existing contractual commitments at this time."

Hint ....Sun rises, air heats, winds form. Now where in that equation is there a constant dependable source of renewable energy? Wind towers have weather equipment at the top of the turbine. When the wind speed causes the programming to indicate that wind will reach speeds to start the motors to start the turbine spinning The wind tower is consuming electricity until that command is issued and peaks when the motors start up. The electric consumption does not cease until the weather station tells the motors to stop. That happens in some cases around 9-10am ...they stop this time of the year about 9-10pm. ...The problem with that? Peak load has traditionally expired by then. Folks have gone to work. There are fewer buildings for manufacturing and retail than there are Houses .....Peak is when manufacturing is starting up in combination with houses getting up to great the day.

Electricity goes away when the production stops. There is no capable Multi zillion Megawatt storage capability. Produce or go dark it is as simple as that ....or buy from someone producing that is willing to sell to you.

The last multi megawatt storage project that never worked out ....went bankrupt out there about two years ago.

There is one gain in a 200 foot tall wind tower ....reliable shade trees for cows.

Lost that photo several years ago. Want to see it first hand? Take a trip to the top of the Gorge in Oregon. Iberdrola's Leaning Juniper Tree Wind farms are on a ranch populated by Black Angus .....Every morning when the sun rises and the shade emerges from the tower. The Black Angus line up, then follow the shade all day. The biggest problem we had involved the cows using the cooling fins on the distribution transformers as back scratchers. Their mass breaks the welds on the fins and start oil leaks from the transformer. Iberdrola had to install fences around each transformer.
