California outlines plan for scaled back giant water tunnel

This is sickening! Southern California wants to get water from the norther California by tunnel. I read an article about Mississippi River was a potential plan for transferring water from the Mississippi river to Southern California. I said this before about Rams moving to LA would be a mistake due to drought, lack of water, smog, earthquake, and too many people in Southern California.
There are too many problems going on in Southern California right now.

they have all the water they ever need if they stop denying its use to protect the great ditch minnow thats on the verge of going extinct.

crops are dying, people cant get water, but we saved a little ditch minnow that no one cares about outside of a few extremists

There's no way on God's green earth for them to do this. None. The logistics are completely against this.

Not only would it require a massive tunnel/channel well over 1,000 miles but it would like likely have to go uphill at least 1,000 feet (looking at ~Tunica to ~Barstow). That's before having to negotiate with multiple other states who would likely want some of that water for themselves.

They can have the toxic waste water after it flows past New Orleans.

If you add a bunch of new species from the Mississippi River Basin it would be an ecological disaster.

They have the ocean. Desalination plants are where it's at.

I loved when Trump talked about this one time at a rally

Denying water to humans to save a fish is the most California thing I believe i've ever heard

It would be less energy intensive to run desalination than pump a river uphill across a continent. Because this can’t just be some little pipe. To be worth the effort it’s got to siphon off a significant chunk of the Mississippi.

What are you talking about? I am posting what the article said and there was another article about Southern California talking about transferring water from the Midwest. That was the Mississippi river. I live in St. Louis. I am against Southern California for trying to take water away from another area. This is sickening to see that Southern California trying to get things their way.

And they will tell you in the same breath that a border wall won’t work and it’s too big of a project.

They say that the brine that’s made after the desalination process is toxic to marine life when put back in the ocean. I don’t understand why they don’t just ship it to the cold weather states to uses as road salt in the winter.
