You’re not wrong. There are only 2 ways to perform the National Anthem. 1) exactly as written 2) Whitney Houston. No current pop tartlet is even close to Whitney Houston, so stick to #1, you retarded no talent hacks.

The National Anthem is a very sacred thing. And as such it should ONLY be sung and played as originally written.

Yes people died for the rights of those artists to sing. But to sing and play our National Anthem any other way except the way it is written shows a complete lack of respect for those soldiers that gave their lives to keep us free. And accomplishes only one thing, it draws attention to themselves.

You want to honor America and it's freedoms bought and paid for with the sacrifices of real patriots, then sing the damn song as written. There are hundreds of thousands of other songs and you can have them all. Just leave this one alone.

I watched and was somewhat uncomfortable. Seemed irreverent in one way, but celebrating Freedom to explore is the basis of our God-given Rights Constitution. Of course like any big time ‘Artist’, they were out to make a wave. Sensationalism always sells.

I guess you hate Hendrix’s version as well..

I actually got kicked out the theater standing for that one.

Far East Tokyo, Japan. All of our Dads on the back row to make sure everything went exactly as their sons said it would. To get away with this, it pays that your best friend and his brother are the Base Commander's kids. Jimi started, the football team stood. Movie stopped house lights on ..."All right out you go guys." We marched out in a single line. Dad gave me a thumbs up as I walked past. Went out found our girl friends standing in line for the next showing with our tickets.

Returning, Specials Services Officer asked "I see your Dads left .... no more standing I take it?" "No, we made our protest. Trouble is some of our seniors will not be coming home. This was for them."

I hated it. It didn't flow well with the music and took the feels out of it. Was no emotion too it. They made it just a song..
