So, I have admittedly not paid one single second to the Breonna Taylor shooting but have seen headlines only about how this a no knock warrant.

Just read a little about the case and the AG just said that the officers knocked.

If that's the case and the the guy is shooting how in the hell can the AG prosecute one of the officers for returning fire after one of the officers was shot?

Its almost like these so called Lawyers who come out with things are lying to get the public riled up... the city paid 12 Million to Taylor family for this ...

He is only being charged with the bullets he sprayed into the neighbors apartment.

The Breonna portion was a good shoot.

The officer that was outside the back shot blindly through a wall or something. he is the one charged because his rounds went into the next apartment with 3 occupants which is why he has 3 counts of the same charge.

I’d imagine the officer will get off... Don’t think you’re going to have a jury convict when the officers attorney provides evidence that they knocked and were fired upon.

he was shooting completely blind with other apartments nearby with people inside

the "victims" in the 3 wanton endangerment charges were people in the other apartments that were struck by the bullets from the officer who was firing blindly

he may have thought he was providing covering fire... but it does seem very reckless

We’re they struck? Because you would think there would be an assault charge

they were not

ETA: for all I know the people in that other apartment weren't even in the same room that the bullets went through

I think this case points out how bad our media is. The story on it has changed at least ten times

They fired him a few months ago, prior to getting the FBI ballistics report. Whatever statement he gave the investigators was enough to get him fired.

I dont know. Probably not if he was just shooting blindly without knowing who/where his target was.

False

We rate the claim that officers did not have a warrant to enter Taylor's apartment as FALSE because it is not supported by our research.
Louisville police had a “no-knock” warrant to enter Taylor’s apartment. No-knock warrants have now been banned in Louisville.

Fact Check- they did have a no knock warrant

the police did knock anyway

all of you are completely missing the point. they didn't have to go in at all, knock or no knock. the vast majority of all warrants like this they just wait and catch the perp while he's moving around. they knew Breonna was in there. Just bc the thug fired doesn't mean they had to barge in just to prove how badass they are. They should have should have let her come out or waited him out. cut off power, water, etc. This completely lacked any common sense strategy.

and he was... 3 times for wanton endangerment

max is 5 years per count... so he faces 15 years in prison
