I get the sentiment and won’t downvote you for it. As the father of a 1LT (and father-in-law of another), I want to minimize any potential for conflict for our troops.
That being said, this seems a hell of a lot more like “defending the country” than building a pier to offload supplies in Gaza.

Unless they are military aged male sleeper cells or criminals then it's innocent people being sold a bill of goods by the NGOs and other parties who are facilitating the migrant caravans. For shame!

I’m convinced that you can build a fence/wall with cameras every 100’ and allow the internet free rein to watch over it.
See someone trying to get in? Press a button to alert the authorities. Authorities can visually confirm and send someone out to arrest them. Neckbeard internet sleuths would be all over that.
