This would be funny as hell, but I'm skeptical that will be the case.
His taxes will be clean and they know it. They want the headline.
TRUMP MAKES MILLIONS AND PAYS NO TAXES!
Even though it was all legal they don’t give a frick. The state controlled media will run with that headline.

Obligatory they got him this time

Why would you doubt his returns are anything but? You think if he had bad returns the IRS wouldn't have already outed that?
This is what I don’t get, the dude is almost 80. He’s been paying taxes longer than most people I know have been alive. The irs has had access to all his filings.

You think Martin Niemöller wrote a joke. About 3.5% of earth's population paid with their lives for his joke.
Simply put, what goes around, comes around.
You'd better damn well hope this BS does not take Trump out.
If it does there will be Hell to pay, brother.
Mark my words.
The best possible outcome for you here is this bullshite ends quickly, and in Trump's favor.
Otherwise, familiarize yourself with another poem, WBYeats' "Second Coming"
You talk a lot of shite on a message board. Not really impressed.

Smart enough not to prepare his own tax return.

Is that a passive aggressive way of saying he’s been looked at under a strong microscope for all that, and on numerous occasions in all likelihood? Because if so, I’ll allow it. In fact I think one of the most recent audits was going on during the 2016 election/campaign period. I’d also say that the IRS probably wasn’t and isn’t easy on Trump, so it’s highly unlikely to be back room deals being made. Had they been able, at any point whatsoever, they’d have tagged him with the quickness. And they know exactly what to look for, much more so than a Congressional committee.

Jurisdiction of the Committee on Ways and Means
The U.S. Constitution requires that all bills regarding taxation must originate in the House of Representatives. The Committee of Ways and Means is the chief tax-writing committee of the United States House of Representatives. Members of the Ways and Means Committee are not allowed to serve on any other House Committees unless they apply for a waiver from their party's congressional leadership. The Committee has jurisdiction over all taxation, tariffs, and other revenue-raising measures, as well as a number of other programs including:
Social Security
Unemployment insurance
Medicare
Enforcement of child support laws
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
Foster care and adoption programs
How do they gain access to individual taxes from a committee for overseeing tax law?
I think this is government over reach at the very least.

“For far too long in our country, the wealthy have not paid their fair share of taxes. The result is a two-tier tax system where billionaires and big business follow one set of rules, and regular Americans are held to another. This will cost the Treasury $600 billion in unpaid taxes this year alone, and an estimated $7.5 trillion over the next decade. With corporations paying less than ever, the burden upon our working neighbors to shoulder the national load has become unsustainable to America’s future.
“The irresponsibility and despicable actions of Americans who conceal large amounts of income in order to avoid paying their fair share widens the economic gap, irreparably dividing our country. We must work with urgency to create an equitable system that holds tax cheats accountable. Closing the tax gap has long been a priority of the Committee, and we will schedule a hearing to better understand how Congress can hold to task the wealthy taxpayers who are exploiting and undermining our tax system.”
Chairman
The committee that oversees tax law is going after those that use the tax law.

Remember when Maddow had a prime time special to release his “unearthed” past tax returns and all they found was that he was charitable and paid a shite ton in taxes.

Wonder why they don't go after Biden's finances? You know, the Big Man? How did he account for that income, or did he? I doubt Hunter ever accounted for his.
We know the answer. Congress needs to go after Biden's tax returns now.

Why, indeed? That said, aren't you curious what kind of skeletons lurk in the financial closets of the Clintons, George W, Hussein and the Bidens? The precedent will have been established....

Yep. I never thought I’d see the day where a conservative SCOTUS would allow it, but here we are.
Conservative court, what is the law, follow it.
Liberal court, I don’t like the law, so I’ll just fab up a new one on the spot.

Can't wait for them to realize he's been sandbagging on handing over squeaky clean tax returns
This would be funny as hell, but I'm skeptical that will be the case.
Also can’t wait to see his 1099s from Putin. Should be awesome to finally know how much the Russians have been paying him.

quote:Indeed!! Roughly 50% of the country contributes… nothing. And they ain’t “the rich”. I’d challenge this idiot to name a single tax credit that has a minimum income threshold.
For far too long in our country, the wealthy have not paid their fair share of taxes. The result is a two-tier tax system where billionaires and big business follow one set of rules, and regular Americans are held to another.
Thst statement is exactly why Congress shouldn’t have access to Trump’s taxes (or anyone else’s for thst matter). At best they are ignorant of their own laws they are tying to “investigate”. At worst they are outright liars trying to demonize “the rich”—who continue to pay the vast majority of the taxes in this country.
