Boomers have 63% of 84.4 trillion dollars of wealth the government wants.

A number of them got around this by cashing out their assets or transferring them before the rates went up.

George Lucas and George Steinbrenner come to mind.

the very first day i'm eligible for social security i'm taking it out. LOL at anyone 'waiting' until age 67 for a 'bigger payout'.

take anything you can ASAP baws and assume you'll get nothing.

cant wait for social security to check on people's private retirement funds and determine those who saved 'enough' don't deserve social security at all.

I waited until I was 67 and they payed me retroactive back to my official retirement date. Lump sum of 30k.

Me to. May as well start cashing it in while there is still some to get and while you might get more waiting until 67 you have to factor in you're getting nothing during that 5 years.

I have 2 and a half years and I'm getting mine

Most Boomers should get a $20k tax credit every year for continued support of their semi dependent children. It's insane how many parents I personally know over age 55 who are still subsidizing their children's lifestyle. Paying their cell phone bills, helping them with car insurance, rent, vacations, etc. Ask the average Boomer what their parents did for them once they hit age 18-21, it was generally, there's the door, there's the world, go get ya some.

Sounds like Gen X also.

The government will get it all. They need to fight climate change.

He's spending what he earned, what was, over time, stolen from him, and which he finally (in part) recovered, yaAsshat.

Seems like it. Great Reset or what have you…there is an obvious attempt at capturing this wealth. It’s what is driving policy.

Keep your eyes and ears open for anyone using the phrase "means testing". They've been arguing this for over 20 years. It was a big topic in the 2000 election where "saving social security" was a major issue. Even some republicans agreed with some method of means testing.

This is a idiotic statement. You are saying boomers are all about mm me me and follow up by saying they don’t want to give any to you and your brethren. Who made it! What are you doing today to enrich your self and those around you. Who gives the most in taxes to make everything move forward?
