DiBlasio is talked often enough about on this board that I thought it would be okay to post here.

Looks like a cathotic protection issue. Better make sure the sacrificial anodes are not shorted and replace them as needed.

Those boats are being built in Baldwin LA. Next to my hometown. It's kind of surprising that they are having issues. Supposedly they are good ship builders.

I drove through there on Thanksgiving day. Was surprised at the amount of heavy industry. Outside of the immediate area there's almost nothing around that intersection of canal and highway.

European style corruption. Earmark outrageous money for projects that should cost a third of that so your friends get money.

More prevalent in Europe and South America.

3/16" hull plate is very thin, that's 3 marks pass the big mark for the coonass fitters. Sounds like the keel coolers did not get properly isolated.

Those guys have been building boats for decades. They have an outstanding reputation, and sell boats all over the world.

The real problem is that they picked a stupid boat design for the intended environment. The boats were built properly but they were never gonna last long up there

Yep. It's kinda a poorly written article. Says taxpayers are sinking $325 million into the maritime computer program but doesn't state any reasons of why so much.

Sounds like typical Louisiana corruption to me.

They are great boat builders. Probably just a ground fault somewhere. Likely being made into far bigger of an issue than it is.
