Blacks and the “how to deal with police talk”

I have heard numerous claims that all of the black youth have to be warned about how police are out to get them and they have to behave differently. If that is true, why do we constantly see blacks resisting arrest which escalates the interaction? Why aren’t black youths listening to the “talk” given to them from their elders?

And guess what- whites do the same thing. My son is 16. I told him if pulled over expect no mercy. As a male teen you won’t get any. Do exactly what you are told. Say yessir and no sir.

My dad had the same talk with me about the NOPD (I grew up in Baton Rouge). He said, simply, DON'T frick WITH THE NOPD!!
I ignored the advice once and got pushed backward over a NOPD barricade!!

My 18 year old son might be the whitest kid in America and I've had the "how to deal with police" talk with him. Pretty simple really.
If you get pulled over, do so safely, roll your window down and then put your hands on the wheel. If asked for paperwork or your ID, tell the officer where it is and ask if you can reach for them. Even if you feel that the officer has made a mistake or is being a dick, the time to deal with that is not on the side of the road, so go along and deal with it later. Be polite.
How many recent interactions involving black people would have gone differently had people simply followed these easy to follow tips?

This is bogus. I had 4 boys. I gave them all the “talk”. It obviously worked. Watching how these kids interact with cops today tells me no body had the “talk” with them.

This is the difference. “The talk” is tainted by emotion and hate instead of coolness and common sense logic.
