What is your one biggest takeaway from what is happening in Afghanistan?

Mine, perhaps too obvious: The government does not have your back. So why trust them in anything?

Never get involved in the middle east ever again... nothing good can come out of it.

Democrats have no idea how to run a country.

And what nugget said.

I've also come to the realization that the US Govt may be the most corrupt govt in the world.

It baffles me how people are just now figuring this out

Never *elect* a guy that has a horrible track record on foreign policy ... to be THE guy that is dictating US foreign policy ....

They destroyed evidence at the embassy so we will never find out the real truth and aren't in a hurry to get our citizens home because they know the truth of what's going on over there.

Nation building never works.

We should have made Afghanistan the priority from day one, killed Bin Laden, then GTFO. Never should have gone into Iraq as it detracted from Afghanistan.

If you didn't learn this from January, I'm glad you finally figured it out.

At this point, they have no right to comment or to try to do anything with the 2nd Amendment, unless it's to remove restrictions. They armed a bunch of terrorist to the teeth, and they don't want me to have an AR15?

1) That place has been at war with someone for 1000's of years. We aren't fixing that anytime soon. Just get out.

2) The media is disgusting. It took then 1 week to make the pivot and start getting the heat off of Joe and his merry band of misfits.

I used to think they had only 1 way of embezzling taxpayer money...Turns out it's through USAID via foreign relief, massive bloated bills in congress that we can't stop, and now....20 year wars with no goal and billions spent and so much money missing, wasted, or equipment unaccounted for. We can't stop them from stealing anymore...they do it at will. Look at all the weapons we left behind that they won't lose a minute of sleep over. That money could go to all the covid infested illegals flooding the southern border.

It also does not have sack. What a weak, emasculated, feckless demonstration of will power this administration possesses. You have the most powerful military in the world and you are behaving like you need to ask the Taliban's permission to go over to Billy's house to play. I'm kind of amazed China hasn't already attacked Taiwan. This administration thinks drafting a memo is a show of force.

Again the two most untrustworthy entities known to mankind are the government and the media. Trusting either of them is a fool’s errand.

Biggest takeaway from Afghanistan

1) The 2nd Amendment types when they claim " only if they had guns" means nothing when the Afghan Army/ militias were far better equipped & funded than the Taliban.

2) Sad to see Afghans squander an opportunity & assistance that the opposition in Venezuela , Cuba , N Korea etc.... & other oppressed people could only dream of having.

We should never been been over there for 20 years. Take out OBL and then get out. As much as y'all want to blame the Democrats/Biden for this fiasco, it was started 20 plus years ago by the Bushes!! Blame to go all around on both sides of the aisle.

Trumpkins are upset that that dear leader was too cowardly to withdraw & angry that Biden actually did it ( we hope) . " But it wasn't perfect & Americans haven't died in mass numbers in the streets of Kabul , but.......".

I think Obama had an opportunity after killing Bin Laden even if he waited until his 2nd term.
