As an incumbent, Liz Chaney lost in the primary and only received 29% of the vote. She couldn’t help herself get re-elected. Why does she think people care what her thoughts are?

That's ego overriding objectivity and it's based entirely on power shifting from the Bush/Romney/Cheney country club crowd of GOP members. They aren't involved in politics to make the country better, they're in it for keeping their clique in power. This shift is a very real threat to them and her inability to kneejerk say "no, I would never want Democrats to hold the House" is pure evidence of this.
