You are absolutely pretending like the concerted effort to remove Trump from office post-election, using Steeles dossier and all of its manufactured coroboration (this likely being another example of that) wasn't even a thing. How can we have a serious conversation about this?

What? Leak it to the press? The US intelligence folks already had it to leak.

Is it really that mystifying to your that just as crossfire was ending, Steele took his dossier to British spooks? Considering 5 eyes, and the poppa shenanigans over the summer, I seriously doubt they didn't know about it all already.

Not at all. Getting the Brits in on the action was the only thing he could do to keep "investigations" going. Sort of like desperately leaking memos in an effort to get a SC appointed.

You need to listen to Dan Bongino podcast. He has laid everything out using facts presented in liberal media articles (so as not to appear bias), as well as John Solomon & Sara Carter.
Have you heard of parallel construction?
Do you recall hearing Brennan claiming they spied on Trump b/c there was a "corpus of intelligence"?
Comey claimed there was a "mosaic of information", remember?!

No it's not that boosie, you are just carrying the water for your side of the aisle. Honestly though you are at least reasonable, usually, so I implore you to dig deep within and see there are MAJOR problems with how all of this has gone down and NOBODY deserves to be set up the way Trump has been and then summarily persecuted for doing nothing. That's just not right no matter how you look at it.
When I used to play pick up basketball, if I fouled someone or had the last touch of the ball before it went out of bounds for example, much to my teammates' chagrin, I would call myself out. I did this because the LAST thing I wanted was to not foul or not have the ball come off me yet get blamed for it. Folks knew I called an honest game on myself. I would have a lot of respect for any lefty who was just honest with the situation and call out the bullshite because you don't want that crap to go the other way at any point in time when the shoe is on the other foot.

I think this went beyond that. Remember, this is post FISA. Steele had already successfully laundered his own Intel through Issikoff to get the Dossier past the courts.
This smells like a Steele trying to get GCHQ to continue to spy on Trump post election (and post Brennan, Flapper, and Lynch) with a side of CYA for the stuff that was done by other former spooks during the Papadopoulos deal.

None of what I’ve said has been to argue there wasn’t frickery afoot with Steele and the dossier. All of my comments here have been that I don’t think this specific story in the OP is that big of a deal. And as much as I’ve gotten blasted throughout this thread, no one has given me a cogent answer as to why this is such a big deal.
To be honest I had already assumed the dossier was spread around to other agencies and I thought that was known and built into the outrage already.

I assumed brits were in on it because they clearly were. This confirms that it was more likely former spies and friends of Steele operating outside of gchq - at least prior to the election.
