The racial double standard exists, but to most people, the grocery store is scarier because it’s something everyone does. It all depends on the perceived innocence of the victims.

I’ll never go to a rap concert, and I’ll never associate with gang members. But, I shop for groceries all the time. If I was in that store in Buffalo, I’d probably be dead now.

But again, yes, there is a double standard, and that is also a factor.
