The reason Xi isn’t doing it at this point is because it’d literally be the most difficult invasion in almost all of world history. Don’t let Taiwan’s size fool you, it’s insanely difficult to invade. Only Hannibal going through the Alps would be in the debate. It would have to be an amphibious assault at least 4 times the size of D-Day and possibly up to 10 times the size. None of the coasts are good for landing, and the ones that are can be well defended.
They’re also not going to be bombing on mass as we’re seeing in Ukraine since they want the infrastructure more than anything. Then they have a shite ton of mountains in the middle with random bunkers all over the place like Switzerland. And then you got to worry about us, because we would get directly involved with Taiwan unlike Ukraine. Invading Taiwan would be hell.

Biden goes around the world and delivers some of the most bizarre speeches. not only is his rattling cages between countries with known hostilities. but is also handing out guarantors of US military action if the despostic bigger guy acts aggressively towards the less powerful but democratic nation.

Ummm, you’re just finding this out? That’s the actual point, dude. Forget oil, that is the modern day oil, and Taiwan is sitting on 90% of it. That’s why there’s not going to be bombing on mass. Granted the big concern for both China and the West is of Taiwan will intentionally sabotage them as a “frick you” to both China and the West should China take Taiwan.
