I just got a message in a bulk email from the Army Chief of Staff, the SECARMY and the SGM of the Army begging to 'tell the Army story' because recruiting is absolutely a disaster right now.
This is a story they probably don't want told. Along with screwing over guys who did that recruiting assistance program and got bounties for doing so--several people have had their lives ruined over all that.

Yeah its contract law, you get this bonus for an agreed term of service. You dont complete your term of service because you got booted out for disobeying a direct Order.
You get credit for the time you served under the bonus contract and you pay back the unearned part.

5 generations in my family served WW 1&2,VietNam,1’st Gulf War.Have 1 grandson currently a Navy pilot.I’ll be a SOB if any of my other grandsons join if I have anything to do with it.
Another grandson was offered $30,000 sign on bonus right out of high school for Navy nuclear program,I told him to tell them to shove it.Glad he listened,he got academic scholarship to LaTech so all is good.
