I'll admit I don't understand executive orders very well but if they have the power to basically conjure up laws what is the point of the legislative branch?

Most definitely agree as it pertains to the primaries process leading up to the nomination of the final candidate, but what about that point forward?
IMO come general election time, I believe it is the best possible move to proactively vote for just for that party initial, if nothing else. In other words, at the end of the day it's at least better to have a Republican than a Democrat.
