I spent a few days in Selma back in 1980. It looked pretty bad back then. My host suggested we have dinner at the only nice restaurant in town.
Him: 'It's private...members only.'
Me: 'Are you a member?'
Him: 'Yep, so are you.'

There were three categories. Private, semi-private and municipal.
Called the semi-private to see about lessons.

I hated that shite with a passion. On the other hand, the municipal course had an area where "golfers" hung around drinking/playing "tunk", throwing bets on the greens for putts and leaving their garbage.
This municipal golf course also had armed robberies.
