Bernie Sanders says Americans 'would be delighted to pay more in taxes' for socialism

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) had a surprising answer when he was pressed on how to pay for his socialist policies — he said Americans would be "delighted" to pay more in taxes.
Sanders was speaking to Anderson Cooper on CNN when he made the comments about taxes.
"Do enough Americans know what you mean by [socialism] and what that actually looks like?" Cooper asked.
"Look, what we have to understand," said Sanders, "for example, just for example, the United States is the only major country on Earth not to guarantee healthcare to all people, as a right. In many countries in Europe, Germany for one, you go to college, and the cost of college is zero. I think in Finland they actually pay you to go to college.
"In most of the countries around the world the level of income and wealth inequality," he continued, "which in the United States today is worse than at any time since the 1920s with three families owning more wealth than the bottom half of America, that level of income and wealth inequality is much less severe than it is right here in the United States."
Cooper pointed out that individual personal taxes in those countries are much higher than in the U.S.
"Yeah but I suspect people in this country would be delighted to pay more in taxes, if they had comprehensive healthcare as a human right!" Sanders responded.

first balance the budget
then get every tax payer involved in federal taxation Bernie
then let's talk!

This is fantastic news, because if people are enthused about giving, then this can be a strictly voluntary program. No forced confiscation of earnings will be required because lots of people want to give their money.
And since it's voluntary, I'm opting out. Thanks.

He must not know that most of those countries basically dictate who can and can’t go to college which helps those countries pay for the free college. Which let’s face it, he and the other stupid libs would say is racist if done here. Also in many of those countries people who can afford private health insurance almost always do so since the govt. mandated health insurance is so shitty.

Bernie really does love his talking points followed by sounding like an idiot.

Yeah, just what all Americans want. MORE TAXES!
I mean, is he just talking to unemployed losers who pay no income taxes??

Literally (insert most famous socialist you can reference that may, MAY, have created some sort of result that the people of that nation didn't revolt over because the military would squash it)____________.
Study the names of world leaders that are socialist, and please indicate the winner. Socialism is a failure. Socialism is another evil power grab from the lazy, ignorant, and uneducated citizenry.

healthcare as a human right
It's impossible to have healthcare as a right. I can't walk up to any medical professional at any time and demand treatment because it's my right. Healthcare is a service that must be paid for. If you're not paying for it, somebody else is.

any talk of raising taxes to pay for a new program is pointless until we have a balanced budget. otherwise more taxes will mean larger budget deficit....

I would be all for Germany's system of education and providing free college education to U.S. citizens that qualify through the system.....
Let me know when the left is going to be good with classifying kids as they progress through the various levels of "school" and are precluded from attending college as early as age 11 and being pushed toward trade school...

Make the bottom half pay taxes and see how happy they are.

I don't get why people don't understand this fundamental fact.
The only way this could be true is by enslaving medical professionals.

quote:And I suspect that if you Dis incentivize working by raising taxation plus giving away free shite you'll have all of America sitting on their butts with their hands out and no one and nothing to fill said hands. Then when they get hungry and cold they will get up and start fighting, 1st each other, then anyone and everyone they see as they form a more organized force. Eventually the USA will really look like Somalia with warlords territories and such.

A tenement of national socialism is the government controlling the means of production. So....
