We may be looking at this strategy all wrong. Pelosi is a good politician and a good strategist. I think she may want this impeachment thing to go forward and have it disposed of closer to next summer. She knows they cannot remove Trump, but she thinks she can hang the non conviction/ acquital on the Republicans necks and use the info that comes out to indict them in their defense of the Senate.

Pay attention to movements in the next 2 months. If Beto drops out to run against Cornyn , I think this signals the attack on the Senate. Plus they will throw a lot of money at the Kentucky race to unseat the Turtle. Plus they will try to peel off Romney and Ben Sasse.

The thinking is that even if Trump wins re-election, the Republicans will be damaged and if they take McConnell's seat they will try again at impeachment.

Pelosi is only doing this because of her fight with AOC.

By filing an “inquiry,” she actually stalls the process that AOC and all her goons are calling for... basically Pelosi is blocking AOC and crew.

Has nothing to do with an actual impeachment.

Plus, AOC isn't bright enough to realize that yesterday's theater means absolutely zero towards impeachment. She's duping them into keeping quiet.

This is about the Clintons. That server is getting really, really close now. Expect some "suicides

No matter how good a strategist Pelosi is, her caucus just can't keep it in their pants when it comes to Trump.

I was actually wondering if she might have just pushed this forward, without having even read the transcript, knowing that (like everything else they’ve tried against Trump) it could blow up huge in their faces ... then she points to the Squad, focusing on AOC, and blames them and their ilk for all of this.

She gets to bitchslap the extremist of her party so they’ll stop all of the shite that’s only getting in the Dems way. She gets to secure her place as the “reasonable” voice of her party. And she gets to quash any threat to her leadership of the party.

Or she’s just overcome with TDS.

The only strategy that could possibly explain this is that the Dems burn for this and she can point the finger at the Squad and the far left elements of her party as forcing the issue, thus neutering them after the 2020 arse-kicking.

If this is the strategy, she will have to give the green light to the Red State "moderate" Dems to vote against it.

Or something more nefarious....the Dems need a distraction right now and AOC gets all the TV time she wants so she will keep pushing and make Pelosi call a vote for a formal inquiry.

I'm not saying he would win, but no one expected him to get as close to Cruz as he did. I think we should temper our enthusiasm and watch our 6 on all of this. The only way we stop this is by taking back the House in 2020 and I think that will be a tough task in 2020....not necessarily in 2022 though.

I think that Pelosi is stalling this thing, but she wants the controversies to keep churning....it's to the Democrats advantage now. They were trying desperately to find something other than the b.S. obstruction stuff to hang on Trump because .....there really was not real obstruction....the Dowd recording is a big deal and the fact that Mc Gahn talked his client out of a big mistake is huge as well.

I think they think they have an ace up their sleeve somewhere......I heard someone say that this whistleblower may be a familiar name. I'm just saying don't think that Pelosi has not thought all this out .

She's the party leader and the Speaker of the House. She is responsible for whatever happens, nobody else.

Pelosi is trying to save the House by NOT moving forward with impeachment. All of the "moderate" dems that won in Trump districts will be very vulnerable in 2020 especially if they have to go on record for voting on articles of impeachment.

Impeachment enquiry is just a red meat phrase for the dem base which is just another way of saying investigation.

Trump is not closer to being impeached with this latest fiasco, but there is potential for some major fall for the dems.

The majority of people are sick of this crap. Dems took back the House and instead of working to help the American people they have focused solely on attacking Trump. Hell to pay in Nov.!

Beto looked like he was ready to go back to skate boarding when he was being interviewed about the army dude that wanted to bomb him.
I’d be scared too!

A better strategist would have her own house in order: See Squad.

I don't think we should discount her and the radicals....actually, I think we make a mistake in not thinking she is far off ideologically than the Squad. They are not going to give up this quest and they are motivated. Trump scares them like no one else because he cannot be controlled and he does not care. They will continue this and try to keep the pressure and distraction on. I think they are doing a head fake and the Senate is their real objective. Trump can stay if he is neutered.

I just don't think we are seeing the full game. I mean while we were all about Kavanaugh, etc. they were setting up their moves on the House and they went in and essentially eliminated any remaining Republicans from New Jersey to Maine and California.

Beto is now unelectable in TX unless it’s his El Paso seat. If he ever runs again they can just use clips from the recent debates to show how batshit crazy he is now. Nothing gets TX on your side like calling for gun confiscation and open borders.
