Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., says he will ask Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts to investigate possible abuse of the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court during the 2016 election. Noting that President Trump is "down" on the FISA court, Graham, who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told reporters on Thursday he will make a call to ask, "‘Would you please look and see what happened?’ because I don’t want to lose the FISA program." As the chief justice, Roberts has the power to appoint judges to the FISA court.

quote:

In March, Graham announced a reignited investigation by his committee into alleged FISA abuse. Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz announced the initiation of a FISA abuse investigation in March 2018 after requests from both then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Republican members in Congress. He is expected to wrap up by May or June. Attorney General William Barr told Congress on Wednesday he was “working very closely” with the Horowitz as they both conduct investigations into the investigators who ran the Trump-Russia investigation at the Justice Department and FBI.

Does not compute. So long as there is FISA, there will be massive surveillance abuse. Secret courts have no place in America.

This is Graham initiating a cover up. Graham wants to let everything go with the democrats. He is a POS politician.

They already voted in the FISA court patriot act when they all knew damned well about the Obama admin abuses of it.

Nothing overall is going to happen earth shattering but some Nellie Ohr's getting in some perjury legal trouble. They will protect their fricking patriot act at all costs. Roberts will tell Graham to fix it themselves and it will waste a few months.

I am tired of it's happening threads and nothing happens.

You don't want Roberts anywhere near this.

He needs to be a subject of the FISA investigation not the person heading one.

The FISA judges were in on this. The whole thing is corrupt and unnecessary.

We have courts. We don't need secret courts.

I am glad I am not the only one that sees it. Graham is play acting.

this has been my question all along. where are the fisa judges? if they were duped, they SHOULD be front and center cya. if not, that seems to indicate they were part of the illegal activity and need to be investigated

Let's hope this leads to the abolition of the FISA court.

I'd wager that Miss Lindsey asking CJJR to investigate is a bit of a trap for Roberts. It's believed that full DECLAS of the PapaD/Page/Flynn/Manafort FISA applications will somehow implicate Roberts.

If Roberts doesn't recuse, it could open him up to a world of trouble.
