I have to say that if it was a Dem President and he wouldn’t at least agree to meet and discuss with R reps I would be furious. Our system is supposed to involve listening to each other and working towards viable solutions that benefit the country. One of the biggest issues right now is that the parties are so polarized that no one is even talking.

My guess is that Trump is setting them up. He (the GOP) will agree to a very moderate Red Flag bill which won’t go nearly far enough, forcing the Democrats to oppose it.
