Big win for transparency today.

The high court without comment rejected the appeal filed after an appeals court and trial court both ruled the documents are public records that must be released. The court also dissolved a stay on the appeals court ruling it put in place on Aug. 24 so it could review the record and decide whether to accept the appeal.

The Arizona Court of Appeals had ruled that the documents sought by the watchdog group American Oversight detailing how the recount and audit are being conducted are public and must be turned over.

Republicans who control the Senate have tried for months to keep secret how their contractors are conducting the recount. They argued that because the records are maintained by Senate contractors, they were not subject to public records law and that legislative immunity applies. But the appeals court in its Aug. 19 ruling rejected that argument.

This is compelling the law abiding side to do something, so think you're wrong

Imo, if they had the goods, we would know. They are just trying to save face. Dems covered their tracks, too long in between

Not sure what American Oversight is up to but I'm certain they are up to no good. They were launched in 2017 and have been going after republicans. Now they are hell bent on discrediting the AZ audit.

So audit everything that Republicans do, hold hearings for every move Republicans make....but resist every time Republicans try to audit something or call for hearings? Is that your idea of transparency?

I don’t recall you supporting releasing the router details after they were court ordered.

Must’ve missed that thread eh?

But won't lift a finger even the board of supervisors ignore a subpoena of materials fired the audit? Repeatedly?

This is simply a request for transparency of a government contractor taking actions for the senate.

What do the republicans have to hide around the audit?

They'll most likely allow some of the requested documents surface. But fight on a smaller number over some type of privilege claim to cover whatever it is they're wanting kept private.

Why presuppose they have something to hide. Don't interfere and let 'em do their job.

I’m OK with it, just stating that this wasn’t about the Audit results, just the constant pressure on them….

Lots of whataboutisms in this thread lol. This board is always pushing for transparency. Weird how they aren’t being consistent here.

I’m guessing you guys are equally as critical of Maricopa county for fighting transparency by refusing to comply with subpoenas of routers and election materials?

Im somewhere between it's funny the senate is such a mess they can't enforce their own subpoena and sure let them have it.

But end of day sure inspect it all as long as the state is ok covering the cost of backups replacements etc, for the equipment that most likely will have breached security standards during the audit like the other voting equipment the auditors used. Gotta keep the election secure after all.
