Axios: The GOP's bubble of Trump denial. He's the Front Runner.

Several top Republicans keep saying there's no way former President Trump can win the 2024 GOP nomination — but polls say he can.
New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a potential 2024 presidential candidate, declared on "Meet the Press" last week that Trump's "not going to be the nominee, that's just not going to happen."
Days later, an Emerson poll in the state found Trump leading DeSantis—widely seen as Trump's chief GOP competition — by 41 points.
Former House Speaker Paul Ryan told the New York Times this week: "I don’t think Trump is going to get the nomination. The ace in the hole reason is that he’s unelectable. Even most of MAGA knows this."

What about the will of the voters? Do we not count?

No. We all know this when the GOPE moved to remove precinct committeeman chairs.
They did exactly what the DEMS did to Sanders. fix the game.

I would offer the alleged transparency of Election Night ‘20 and subsequent sketchy AZ Gov election within this past year provides you an answer.

"There is no possible way that trump is the nominee"
"Trump is not going to be the nominee"
"It is unlikely that trump will be the nominee"
"I don't think trump will be the nominee"
"It's tight, but I don't think trump will be the nominee"
"Trump may be the nominee, but the indictments will keep him out of the presidency"
"Trump has no chance of being president"
I've heard all this before some place or some time...

Well, bring it on and we will see where the chips fall. Either way I'm getting a new president in 2028.
The GOP’s problem, which I find delicious, is that they are suffering from the same situation they thought would catapult Jeb to the nomination in 2016 (huge field, overwhelming war chest, control of convention rules).
Trump has a big war chest, has control over the convention rules as the prior cycle nominee, and there are a lot of small nominees now with only DeSantis possibly being a big fish should he declare.
One huge group of candidates blew their load in 2016 (Christie, Jindal, Jeb, etc).
One group of candidates have either officially left the party or have effectively left because they can’t win in a more populist party (McMuffin, Kasich).
One group of candidates are no-chancers who are running on an Anybody But Trump platform (Haley, Pence, etc).
The only candidates capable of winning other than Trump and DeSantis are the likes of Cruz et all, who represent a wing of the party that won’t give control to the GOPe.
They made this fricking mess by hand picking shitty candidates who dropped the ball. Now they are trying to desperately find someone who can beat Trump and it is unlikely to happen given that Trump won once, is believed to have won again, and does what he says he will do.

He is right now. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
When the debates start and the GOP voters see DeSantis is Presidential and Trump is still a petulant child, it is over for Trump.
