FBI Attorney 2 sent similar messages to four different FBI employees. The timestamps of these messages are included below. The messages stated:

13:44:42, to FBI Employee 1: “I mean, I never really liked the Republic anyway.”
13:44:52, to FBI Employee 2: “I mean, I never really liked the Republic anyway.”
14:01:52, to FBI Employee 3: “As I have initiated the destruction of the republic.... Would you be so kind as to have a coffee with me this afternoon?”
15:28:50, to FBI Employee 4: “I’m clinging to small pockets of happiness in the dark time of the Republic’s destruction”

Contrast this with liberal reactions to a sound check of “I have outlawed the Soviet Union, bombing begins in 5 minutes.”

One is a joke. One is not.

This sounds like the show "The Amerikans". It's disgusting that people working in government hold those views.

Those are funny. Sorry your sense of humor reached its maximum potential with Andrew Dice Clay.

I'm not sure how people can't tell that they are being facetious. They are saying the Republic is about the be destroyed, and they were destroying it, because they were reopening the Hillary investigation. The issue is obviously their political views as attorneys (although that is hard to avoid, and at least they weren't the investigators), not that they actually want the Republic to be destroyed.

The first of these exchanges was on October 28, 2016, shortly after Comey’s October 28 letter to Congress that effectively announced the reopening of the Midyear investigation.

If that's your definition of "TREASON," you'd been hung years ago.

I'm just generally curious whether cptbengal actually believes they meant it literally. Am I the only one who noticed that he seems to have trouble understanding obvious sarcasm, and seems to take it literally instead?

Could it be possible that they're joking?

What's the context?

This is why I hate reading straight text.

No those weren't. Those were two different people, having a completely different conversation.

How is this so hard for you to understand? Have you always had difficulty understanding sarcasm? Did you have more difficulty understanding idioms than you're peers in school as well? Do you have trouble making eye contact in social settings too? Do you have difficulty with changes in routine?

All joking aside. It's possible for these to be both sarcastic and improper, given their professional role.

Worse than that... is the fact Attorney 2 felt totally comfortable sending those type texts to at least 4 other people in major positions in government.

That's fricking unreal.
