Article from Trump hating atty points out how thin Muellers case is on Manafort tampering

I yield to no one in my disdain for President Trump. And I certainly have no brief for Manafort

All that said, I think that the special counsel's allegations of witness tampering are rather ... thin.

Study that exhibit and you will see that Manafort was successful in speaking to one witness (Person D1) for exactly 1 minute and 24 seconds. He attempted three other phone calls that did not connect and he sent two WhatsApp messages—one a link to an article describing his indictment and the other saying "we should talk." When asked about the contents of the conversation with Manafort, according to paragraph 14 of the FBI declaration, Person D1 said that "Manafort stated that he wanted to give Person D1 a heads-up about Hapsburg" and "D1 immediately ended the call because he was concerned about the outreach."
Like, Ive been saying, Muellers case is failing on multiple fronts, so hes doubling down on Mueller by threatening him with jail on very, very, very thin evidence. His team is panicked, and knows the clock is running out before the DOJ shuts him down, due to its expressed goal not to interfere in pending elections (which obviously wasn't going to work anyway, according to recent polls)

It's going so bad that the Pitbull had to make up that Manafort was witness tampering

I think the NCAA had more on of LSU’s players accused of tampering than Mueller does.
And that LSU player was only trying to find out what was already said, not change statements.

Marcy Wheeler's theory is that holding off on this filing may have been a premeditated strategy that Mueller was waiting to deploy until after Manafort pledged his last liquid properties as bond, which he finally did on May 25th., such that if Judge Jackson subsequently raises his Bond (as she's likely to do when he goes before her on June 15), he won't make it and Mueller will be able to apply additional leverage with Manafort in jail. Don't know if this is true, but it would potentially explain why Mueller delayed in acting on information he may have had since February.

Has Mueller verified that the witnesses actually exist?

Short version - shithead waiting until Manafort pledged his final asset for bond to do this.
The idea was to nudge the scale, raise bail costs, and make it impossible for him to be free pending trials.
Short short version - he played a con game to twist Manafort’s nuts by getting him stuck in jail.

He still hasn’t verified that the ham sandwiches he indicted exist.

Yes, though their identities are shielded in the filing which asserts the Mercury LLC witness interpreted Manafort's intention was to suborn perjury since Manafort sent him a text contradicting something the witness knew to be true (and that was alleged in the superseding February indictment - namely that the witness's company, likely Mercury LLC was lobbying in Washington on behalf of Ukraine's Russia-backed Party of Regions).
ETA: Teke gets it.

I know this isn't the FBI per say but all the leftists rooting this shite on need to realize that if you ever become a big enough target that they want to get they will find a way to get you.

that would be borderline unethical

Pretty sure I read somewhere that all of the evidence was not all obtained until last month. Marcy is fun to read but she sometimes makes mistakes in her analysis.

i can't imagine a prosecutor would go scorched earth to that extent and be borderline unethical when you are supposed to have lots of other people to investigate prosecute. you'd be ensuring legal obstruction by the defense teams of any person who may be under scrutiny (Which with this expansive of a SC is literally thousands of people)
this claim is weak sauce and i've said it since i read the motion. i'm glad lawyers in the media are being honest about it

Mercury LLC is Company A in the filings and the Podesta Group is Company B (as previously reported). D1 & D2 in this filing are with Company D. I can't figure out who they are (still working on it ).
When are we going to hear about Company C tho?
